I know it’s been a few weeks since I’ve gotten an Explore More out there. Apologies, but I tried to minimize my exposure to screens while on Spring Break with the kiddos. Consequently, I have lots of stuff for you this week, so let’s dive on in.

Before we head into the content, though, I wanted to remind you that Plants-a-palooza 2014 starts on Monday, so shop this weekend to load up on as many different plant foods as you can. Also, invite your friends to join us!Image

Also, I am super excited to offer up an amazing deal for you next week. Look for an official announcement over the weekend, but suffice it to say that you will be able to stock up on information for very little cash.

Slim Palate created one of the most gorgeous cookie recipes that I have seen – Dark Chocolate Chewy Cookies with Sea Salt. They use almond butter as a base. They are absolutely on my treat list now.

Lately my bone broth has consisted of water, bones, and apple cider vinegar. I’ve dispensed with the veggies and honestly, I don’t miss them at all. Simplify, simplify, simplify! For a different kind of bone broth, check out this recipe for fish stock.

And, for a different take on chocolate pudding, don’t miss this recipe, which contains a surprise ingredient. (And it’s not avocado.)

I seem to be all about the unexpected this week. I love this creative take on Chinese Lo Mein which uses eggs in lieu of noodles. And, for another ethnic food with a twist, check out these Grain Free Taco Shells that are both Paleo and vegan.

How stunning is this Shaved Asparagus and Arugula Salad? It just screams Spring ladies’ luncheon to me. Maybe paired with Lavender Limeade from Plaid and Paleo? With this Lemon Pudding Cake from Primally Inspired for dessert?

Speaking of Spring, Mummy Made It offers up these grain free Hot Cross Buns for your Easter tables.

Remember how I shared on Facebook that Ws baseball game got rained out? The one where I was assigned snacks? The one for which I had purchased 17 bananas? Well, I am waiting for them to get overripe so that I can try out this coconut flour-based Banana Muffin recipe from Multiply Delicious.

Chocolate Almond Butter Cups. You’ve seen them before, but PaleOMG adds a fun twist.

Tomatillos are nightshades, but oh, how I adore them. Will someone make and enjoy this Avocado Tomatillo Salsa so that I can live vicariously through you?

Moving on to some parenting talk, maybe you’ve read that praising kids doesn’t seem to help them very much? That’s all well and good, but it’s not helpful if you don’t know what else to say and do instead. Luckily, Dr. Laura Markham has this great write up.

Siblings. Fights. They go together like chocolate and peanut butter, don’t they? GAH! I really, really liked this piece from Hand in Hand Parenting about how to defuse a sibling fight if you get there too late to stop it. (I really like the comparison to the basketball referee.)

Hubby and I are due for a serious heart-to-heart about reducing stress in our lives. This article on reducing stress for kids (again from Dr. Laura Markham) will play a key role in that conversation.

One more from Dr. Laura! Did you know that 23% of teen girls will develop an eating disorder? I know that’s something a lot of my friends who have daughters worry about. Dr. Laura offers up some preventative strategies for us all to keep in mind.

OK, that’s it for this week. Don’t forget to buy your fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds this weekend! And look for teasers about the exciting deal coming up next week – I’ll post info on Facebook and Twitter.

Oh! One more thing! Many thanks to the talented Sara Speert Photography for my new “look” on the blog, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. And, another huge thanks to Karen Chason for the Plants-a-palooza logo!
